Dance Update May 3, May 4, May 11 and May 18

Greetings Dancers,   Here is an update for what is coming. All About Country Dancing(How2dnc.Country) will be held this Friday May 4 and May  18 at the Decatur Moose Lodge at 3190 N. Woodford. As always, you do not need to be a member. I rent the room with a nice wood dance floor. Also, as some of you know, you do not hear all country music and our dance floor is big enough to allow all types of dances. I am very much in favor of all types of dances and music. The Line Dances and Pattern Partner Dances bring a really fun energy to a dance and give the people who are single a way to dance most of the evening. Lead and follow dances are also encouraged and I will play songs to facilitate them. The snacks you all bring are a wonderful addition to the dance. The Moose bar is open all evening for our use.   This Thursday evening I will be teaching Line Dances from 7-8 at Donnie B's at 2937 W. White Oaks Drive, followed by open dancing from 8-10. We have the privilege of having the media from Channel 20 coming out to see what we are all about. I hope you will come and show them how much fun dancing can be. Please do not stay away because they are coming. This is an opportunity to share our passion for dancing with our community. We are all blessed to have been introduced to this wonderful sport and very fortunate that we can physically participate.   I also want to mention to you that I will be the DJ for a dance called The Ultimate Social Dance in Bloomington on May 11, at the New LaFayette Club on 1602 South Main St. As usual, we will have a variety mix of all types of dance music. A swing lesson will be from 7-8 and The Ultimate Social Dance from 8-11:00. Bring a car load and join the party. Many of you came to the Mix It Up Dance in April and met a large group from Bloomington that traveled to Springfield to dance with us.   I would like to see each and everyone of you. Those of you who learned the ChaCha Del Rio at Mix It Up are welcome to show up Thursday night at Donnie B's and I can go over the dance again for you. Greetings Country Dancers...just a note to say you are very welcome to come to this dance. We will do the Stationery Cha Cha, Ah Si LD, Michael Jackson Stomp LD, Sex on the BeachLD, Cupid Shuffle, Electric Slide. I am teaching Del Rio ChaCha. It is helpful if there are people who know the dance. Otherwise, it will be no different than going to a dance with a band. You figure out what you can do and enjoy the social fun. SATURDAY APRIL 21st, 2012 MIX-IT-UP presents an "AFTER TAX RELIEF DANCE".... Your host are Dancing DJ Marilyn Ferry and Gene Gene The Dancing Machine. FRIDAY NIGHT FLASH...GEORGE & SANDY WASHBOND TEACHING @ how2dnc.country

Dancers Don't Miss Out:   ALERT.....George and Sandy Washbond are teaching Friday night(April 13) at the Decatur Moose for how2dnc.country. They will review the dance they taught last week called Sway, Shuffle & Boogie done to the song by Blake Shelton called That Thing We Do. This dance is a pattern partner dance. You do Not have to have a partner to do this dance or singles are welcome to do this dance.  The lesson starts at 7:00.   This Friday(April 13) they will be teaching a Line Dance called E-Z Shuffle to the song Cowboy Up. You know that is a really good peppy song.   Everyone is welcome to eat dinner at the Moose before the dance. This Friday they will be serving Fried Fish, Pork tenderloin, chicken strips, french fries and cole slaw. I would suggest you try to get there to order by 6:15. They do always have pizza from the bar and it is pretty good. Our room is open for you to eat...so come early, get your seats and have dinner.
