My Friends:   Meet me at the Spfld VFW on the Old Jacksonville Rd for a fun evening on dancing. Lessons start at 6:30-8:00. We are always learning new dances and reviewing ones to refresh our memories. Here are the step sheets of some that we will be doing tonight. West Coast Swing Lessons Starting June 2 Sunday 5:00 at VFW Spfld

Greetings Friends:   This Sunday, June 2, I will begin West Coast Swing Lessons with a practice dance to follow. Beginning Lessons will be from 5-6. During this time we will have basic moves and footwork with rhythm practice. You will have  music suitable for beginning dancers. The basics are the foundation of the dance which can be built on as we progress. During the next 45 minutes we will enjoy learning how to use our basics to create our dancing styles. This class from 6-6:45 will require that you know how to execute the basic steps Push Break, Left Side Pass, Right Side Pass, Starter Step, and the eight count Whip. The rest of the evening is for practice. Dancing to music using the things we have learned and having fun doing it. As we master some of the things we are learning, it becomes even more fun.   Class will be held June 2, June 9, June 16, June 23, July 7, and July 14. We will start at 5:00 and dance until 8 or 8:30.  It will be $36 for the whole series of lessons and the dance time. Location is the VFW on Old Jacksonville Road in Springfield.   Feel free to give me a call if you have any questions. I am so ready for Sunshine so we are doing a teach on Under the Sun  line dance at 7. I will be reviewing at 6:30. Roger had a birthday Monday if you want to get him a card. He does a lot for us behind the scenes. You can make the card funny! He can take it.     See you tonight. Marilyn

Fw: 6:30-10 VFW tonight learn Martini Time..Friday night 7-10 Decatur Moose All About Country Dance

Yes, we are having lessons at the VFW tonight. At 6:30 I will teach a review of four dances. These are easy fun beginner dances...My Girl Sally, Good Morning, Honey Pie, and Jailhouse Rock. Get there early so you get the full instruction. At 7:00 I will review Red Hot Salsa and Chi Balla Polka Mixer from this year, and teach a really nice rumba dance called Martini Time. Also, if the dance makes you thirsty, the VFW has a very reasonable bar for all of us !!!!   Bring your friends and get out of the house, Enjoy the sun and warmer weather. Marilyn :)   This Friday April 5 there will be an All About Country Dance at the Decatur Moose 7-10.   SPRING SUNDAY LESSONS VFW#755 SPRINGFIELD IL FOCUS ON BASICS & LEVEL 1 DANCERS (All are welcome) Please join Marilyn Ferry for a fun filled informative time of learning, improving and practice starting Sundays on APRIL 7 thru APRIL 28. Marilyn will give instruction on basic steps for all types of dances while focusing on the principles of lead and follow. The environment will be social dancing and practice so that as a group we can improve our dancing skills and enlarge our dancing community. That being said, everyone qualifies. Rotation will help us to better learn to lead, follow, and help each other to learn. Cost $24 (per 4 Week Session) or $10 Weekly. Mark you calendars!! Lessons will start at 5:00-6:00. Dance practice will run from 6:00-8:00. My thoughts are that you can have a full Sunday looking forward to a time of dancing which will end early enough for you to get home and plan for the up coming week.
