Mix It Up Dances are Back! Saturday June 20 @ VFW Spfld Old Jack. 7-11 Pat Lyttaker Teaching

Greetings Dancers:

I miss my partners in crime ( Gene and Sharon Weiser). I think they are very happy in Florida. I am happy for them! That being said....I am going to have two Mix It Up Dances at the VFW in Springfield this summer on June 20 & July 25. Come and bring your friends. Everyone can have a great time!*=D> applause

Pat Lyttaker will be our guest teacher on June 20. The lesson will start at 7:00. Please try to get there a little early to get your drinks and change you shoes if need be so that everyone can start at the same place with the lesson. You won't want to miss. *:"> blushing

The dance will last until 11:00. Myself, Marilyn Ferry, will be your DJ for the evening. I will have a mix of music for all types of dancing. These dances are beginner friendly so I will be letting dancers know what possible dance would work with the music. That being said...you can do whatever you decide you want to do to the music. My goal is for all of us to have a great time dancing, meeting new people, and socializing. I do have some gentlemen dance hosts coming which also makes for a fun evening. I will have a place where you can bring snacks to share if you are willing. Snacks are greatly appreciated. The bar is open to us, but will not be located in the dance room.

Looking forward to sharing an evening with you all!!!

Special Beginner Lessons VFW Before Wed Lessons in June at 6-6:45 See Schedule Below

I am asking that you will commit to coming to all of the June beginner lessons so that you will know that you can do this wonderful thing called Line Dancing. Oh, sometimes our line goes around the room and then we call it a Flow Dance. *:-? thinking Mentioning that....Sue requested that we do Key Lime Pie again. We used to do it a few 24 hours ago and everyone really enjoyed it. Of course, one of the reasons we enjoy it so much is that we sing with the chorus. Actually, some of us can do this stone sober. *:^o liar  No it is really true! Come tomorrow night and check it out!*o|\~ sing

The links for the dances we did last week are below.

I am so Excited! A special time is being blocked off on Wed evenings in June at the VFW for Beginners to Line Dancing. Everyone is welcome to bring guests who are self conscious and timid about dancing. I believe dancing in any form can change our lives for the good. Line dancing is a great way to start. You are only responsible for yourself so you can take all of the credit when it feels really good. You can easily learn how to dance to the beat of the music because everyone is doing the same thing.... well most of the time. LOL!!! Sometimes we each make a little variation which could be called a mistake but we have different positive words to describe those moments. They can be moments of opportunity to learn to laugh at ourselves and just have fun.

The beginners lesson will be from 6-6:45. From 6:45-7 we will have open dance so every one can get to know each other. From 7-8:00 we will work on a new dance or review ones we want to remember. From 8-9 we are open to take requests and just have fun practicing. This whole evening is only $5. There is no extra charge for how good you feel when you head for home.

Our next Sunday Country Dance will be June 21. Last Sunday, May 31,we started the Country Dance at 5:00 (new time) and danced until 8:30. The idea is to give people from out of town an earlier time to drive home and get ready for work. FYI.....The snack spread was amazing. Gary's smoked ham sandwiches were to die for. He smoked the ham himself. Love it when a man cooks! Jim forced me to eat a piece of the wonderful pie they brought. It was delicious. Crystal shared her homemade pickles which were really special. First because she made them, second because they were sliced thin, and third because they were between a dill and a bread and butter flavor. I do love condiments! Lots more to choose from and then birthday cake for our special Aunt. She loved it when we sang Happy Birthday ( NOt Really) but we did it anyway. Margie and her son, and Crystal and her husband came early to help Roger and I clean up after bingo and set up the room. Different ones refreshed our minds on how the dances went and others taught us dances we did years ago.

I just want to say again that each of you dancers who come to share yourselves and be a part of this dance community are off the charts. Amazing beyond words! I feel loved and safe to be myself with you all and I thank you with all my heart.

See You Wednesday!!
