Greetings Dancers:

 

This is a special Wed dedicated to the wonderful love and friendship of Jo Hays. Jo has been a good friend since 2000 when I started dancing. She dragged me to Wed night dances when I didn't feel very loved or important to anyone. She understood a lot of what I was going through at the time. She has supported me ever since and has done wonderful things for the dance community. We all want to share this time of excitement for her on this new wonderful journey to  Phoenix Arizona.

 

 

We will be dancing as usual but I thought it would be nice to bring finger foods...be it hot or cold, sweet or salty, you can bring anything you would like. I think it would be a good time to review dances and just have fun dancing.

 

Also it will be a good time to come, since we will not be meeting on Wed evening for three weeks. I am going to be on a trip to Northern Michigan for a week and a half and the VFW is booked for a Military event the third week. That being said, there will be NO Wed night lessons Aug 28, Sept 4 & Sept 11. No lessons those three weeks. There will be a All About Country Dance at the Decatur Moose Sept 13 which we will all be ready for with the long break. That will be Sept 13, Friday, at the Decatur Moose and George and Sandy will be teaching Under the Moon again. It is a wonderful dance! The dates for the rest of the year are Friday Oct 4, Nov 1, Dec 6 at the Moose in Decatur.

 

George and Sandy Washbond will be teaching their classes starting Sept 24 through Nov 26 on Tuesday evening from 7-9. There is a $3 pay as you go fee. Classes are held at 600 East McDonald St in Mt Pulaski IL. We can car pool from the Road Ranger.

 

Also, there is a wonderful one day workshop held in Jacksonville on Oct 12, 2013 put on by the County Line Dance Club. There is a $45 fee for all of the lessons, Lunch and Dinner, and Open Dance that evening. You won't want to miss this one. I will have sheets for you Wed evening for this as well.

Fw: All About Country Dance Decatur Moose Dates for 2013

Greetings Country Dancers,

 

There will be no All About Country Dance at the Decatur Moose in August. I regret this but there was no date that would work out for us.

 

I am pleased to be able to give you the dates for the rest of the year at the Decatur Moose. This is will be the schedule for the All About Country Dance on Friday night starting Sept 13, Oct 4, Nov 1, Dec 6, 2013 from 7-10:00. George and Sandy Washbond will be reviewing the wonderful Under the Moon Dance that they taught in July. This dance works well to lots of different music, but especially nice to the music they provided. Last month lots of you came and stayed until the end of the dance. It was terrific. Please mark your calendars and come on over to the Decatur Moose.

 

Just a reminder that you are welcome to come and do whatever dance that you prefer to the music played. I play a lot of swing, chacha, two-step, waltz, etc.. The Raleighs and Bridgmans and Jo Hays(who is relocating to a warmer climate in August) have always shown up early to take down a row of tables on both sides of the room to open the floor up for all of us to dance. Then, you all pitch in and help put the tables and chairs back in the places. A big shout out 'thank you' to all of you for helping, bringing snacks, and best of all....showing up.

 

It brings me great joy to provide these dances for you. My pleasure is the highest when I am on the dance floor dancing with all of you. Please mark you calendars and come to the Decatur Moose. We will have a super evening together!!

Happy Birthday Thanks To You All :)

Thanks to you all for the wonderful Birthday that you all brought to me. Just showing up to enjoy with me something I so really enjoy sharing with all of you is the best that you could give to me.Well, the goodies, shirt, cards and song were pretty special also.  I looked out over the floor when you were all dancing together to the music Somebody that I used to Know and it was beautiful. You were all totally moving together in step and with the music. I can still see the picture in my head. You all need to be proud of yourselves for what you are accomplishing.

 

Well, have a super weekend and enjoy learning and growing!

Wed July 10 Line Dancing VFW $5 for Evening 6:30-8 Lessons 8-10 Open Dancing

 

 

Hope to see you all today at 6:30 VFW Old Jacksonville Road. We are always learning new dances and reviewing ones we have learned. Only $5 for the entire evening. Here are the dances we worked on last week. We will review these and I will teach Zjozzys Funk at 7:30.     This Friday at the Decatur Moose from 7-10 for $6 and an evening of dancing. Decatur Moose Friday Dance July 12 & Aug 2 George & Sandy are teaching!!!

Greetings Dancers:   Wanted to give you a heads up regarding Fridays at the Decatur Moose. We are fortunate to have George and Sandy Washbond teaching a Pattern Partner Dance called "Under the Moon". I have listened to the music for this dance and it is super. We will be at the Decatur Moose on Friday July 12 and Aug 2 from 7-10.     Please feel free to bring snacks to share. The bar is open to us all. They have pizzas to order at the bar as well. No food is being served on Fridays from the kitchen.   Looking forward to sharing the evening with all of you!!!
